Go OEM with PSE (including the button in the centre console) Short Shift and the PCCM+ radio. Stay OEM.

and then steering wheel wise you could go for the Gen 2 997 Turbo, GT2, GT3, RS wheel.....

part number
997.347.803.71A34
comes in all black ....

https://www.willhaben.at/iad/kaufen-und-verkaufen/...

...or grey/black

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/317812777804

Some people upgrade to this Sports Design wheel but it looks a bit period incorrect in my opinion.

Before you get too carried away with JtC's somewhat questionable suggestions, it would be good to know the history of the "big ticket" items on the car you've bought.

So let's kick off with the mileage ?

Has the engine been borescoped ? If the results were good, has been rebuilt ?

IMS bearing original or upgraded ?

Suspension overhauled/upgraded or still original ?

Tyres less than 3-4 years old ?

Coolant pipes original or replaced ?

Clutch original or replaced ?

Tandem pump, water pump, radiators, A/C condensors original or replaced ?

Have you paid for a factory OEM 997.1 PSE recently ?
Or footed the bill for the removal of an existing non -PSE system, fitting the new PSE system and installing the wiring /plumbing required for it ?

Do you know the OP's use profile ? Have you driven a 997.1 with a factory short shift kit fitted on a cold morning ?

All well and good making cretinous suggestions, maybe try establishing some pertinent information first.

Briefly:

Standard refresh stuff:
Millers NT+ 10w50 oil recommended by hartech
Mobil PTX gearbox fluid. Hard to source but makes a world of difference to cold shifts.
Fresh Bilstein B4s (oem) and suspension, then a DSC controller (aftermarket, makes the damptronic respond far better, still on my list due to keeping a cap on spends but I’ve only ever heard good things)
Eibach Pro progressive springs, lower it slightly and most perceive a slight improvement in ride, win win
New engine mounts if they’ve never been changed, really tightens up the rear end and gear shift.

Popular aftermarket stuff
Alex Yates short shifter (better than OEM GT3) - purchase by messaging him on 911uk
SCR developments for speaker upgrades
PCCM+ is simultaneously loved and hated - it’s OEM level finish, but flawed for the money. Personally I like the 7862 128/256gb+ Heregoes/Owtowsin headunit (not the cheaper versions lower spec which don’t have community support)
Gundo hack standard exhaust mimics PSE always open without the low speed closed valve behaviour of a PSE. Lots of aftermarket stainless options like top gear, x pipes are popular but move the power band further up the rev range slightly.
350mm disk upgrade with caliper spacers

I thought he just replied to the specifics asked with some OEM suggestions, I don't think that is the worst advice in the world. There was no budget given, so that is a different story.

I have a Momo, I like it, but obviously no airbag.

Gundo hack for the exhaust
Ali Express Radio (Apple Car Play/Android Auto)

Don't waste money on the rest of your list - get the alignment done and learn how to drive the car. Enjoy.

I know you're made out of money M biggrin But £5200 (Design911 price, so a Porsche Club GB discount would get you 10% off) plus removal of the existing system, fitment of the new system AND the plumbing in of the pipe work for the valves and installation of the wiring and switch on the dash is a tone-consuming undertaking.

I can't think many owners of 20 year old cars costing £25K would be queueing up to buy an exhaust that'll cost £6k installed. Especially when there are numerous aftermarket alternatives that are far cheaper.

But my original questions still stand. Before spending money on upgrades, it's far better to ensure all the usual 997 issues have been addressed.

I wish I was smile
That does sound slightly insane - I would want something much more special if I spent that much on an exhaust.
Assuming the car is mechanically sound, I would first look at the suspension and get it refreshed or something new set up to my liking (depending on use case for the car).

Strangely enough J, that's precisely what I thought when I saw you were advocating spending what amounts to £7+K on some upgrades on 20 year old car ...

Thats a silly price.
You can get a low miles 997.1 PSE full kit on eBay for about £500.
Spend £100 then getting it ice blasted. £100 for the dash button upgrade. There is no way its going to cost a further £4K+ to get fitted.

Yeh, I know it's incredible what new parts for 20 year old cars cost. I pluck them out of thin air just for the fun of it.

Oh I see, the goalposts have conveniently been moved to enable you to make your point, I wasn't aware the OP was up for buying used stuff off EBay.

If that's the case, as others have said, he may as well just Gundo hack the silencers on his car, slap in a £35 short shift off EBay, and fit a Mountney steering wheel.
