Just a quick one, thinking of buying a 911 at the moment and am really looking to buy a book that tells me all about them and what to look for.
I know they have been mentioned before but just can't seem to find out the names of writers and where I can buy them.

Thanks in advance.

The Used 911 Story - Pete Zimmerman (describes the proc and cons of each generation of 911)

The 911 Story - Paul Frere (describes, in microscopic detail, the evolution of the 911)

Original Porshce 911 - Peter Morgan (describes the evolution of the 911 with pretty pictures and less detail)

911 Performance Handbook - Bruce Anderson (describes evolution of 911s and how to modify them)

Try Amazon or Gmund books (01423 862220)

Cheers, James

Hi, I'm new to this forum and was drawn here to ask a very specific question that might be covered in one of these books suggested.

I'm looking to buy a 1988 or 1989 Turbo 911 Targa. I have found there are very hard to come by. Does anyone know how many were produced with the normal headlights (not slant nose)? Was it offered in the US?

BTW, I own Porsche 911 Road Cars by Dennis Adler which provides a general timeline with details on select models, you might want to check that book out as well.

Thanks.

58 registered in the UK. Not sure about the US.

For facts on turbos go to the PCGB website and look at the "Turbo" register. There are some Acrobat files with all the tech data in.

Cheers, James
