Hello all
I am new member although I am on my 3rd Porsche. Currently driving a 997S, I have put my name down for a 997GT3 - the dealer had no info though. Does anyone know when it will be launched?
Have a look at www.997gt3.com/ it has latest pics and info.....

I've had a deposit down on one of these for a while too. I've heard it will be built in VERY limited quantity (5 are coming to Porsche Reading next year apparently).
Thing is I don't want it to be any heavier than the outgoing GT3 OR to be forced into a sequential gearbox if I manage to get my hands on an Clubsport/RS variant.
Be lovely if it had 420bhp stock!!!!!!

You guys with deposits - were these paid to the dealer (to help their cash flow?) or to PCGB??
Spoke to my dealer today and although I am first on the list for the GT3 they don't need/want a deposit off me just yet. They say PCGB won't let them take deposits until the car is officiallly announced and the order process laid out??

Never heard that one before ???
My deposit is with the dealer, have know idea what PCGB have to do with anything to do with the purchase of a new car ???
If you have got your name down without paying a £5k deposit, you are a lucky man !!!

Have to say, that's what I've heard with ALL the dealers too - they are not allowed to take deposits until there is an official release date. Then they will take deposits.
I've had an order down since early 2004 and have not yet been asked for deposit.
Hmmm, maybe it depends on what franchaise the dealer is part of ???
Not wanting to scare anyone, but have heard of a bit of underhandedness and brown envelopes when it comes down to just letters of intent.

A deposit shouldn't be needed until the car is officially announced by PCGB. I would guess that dealers are using the deposit to find out how much real interest there is and bid for build slots...
In any case, I assume the current deposits are fully refundable?

I just realised he meant Porsche cars Great Britain and not Porsche Club (doh !)
Yes, the deposit only stands if the car becomes official, if not, is refunded.

OK i follow,my friend was right then.I dont think it looks that bad,it was never really going to look like yours at the end of the day was it.Too be honest i'd love one but i can justify a weekend car at that money or bring myself too use it everyday and watch its value drop like a stone.I know my thinking might be wrong but if i bought one of those,it just looks like the kind of car i would'nt want to ever sell ever.
