I'm very excited to buy my first porsche. A found a dealer with a december build allocation for the 2006 997 4CS coupe. Here it:

I've read good things about this car, but having never driven one: you just don't know til you go!

I have a very similar spec car except its in midnight blue. It's fantastic, and the sports exhaust just makes it better. Only problem is that you have to be in sport mode to use it.

I think its outrageous that your first Porsche is a 997 C4S.

There ought to be laws against this sort of thing.

Fantastic car and I love slate grey. In fact would love to buy that car fro you in 2 years time when it has depreciated a bit!

out of interest:

why did you order this:
482 tire pressure monitoring system
instead of sports exhaust?

I would not have ordered this as the painted plastic looks a bit cheap:
XME painted middle console
kindly swap for stitched leather instead - come on its my car too

what is this option?

Just disconnect the on/off control switch or the vacuum hose both in the engine bay, takes about 30 seconds to do and the exhaust will be on all the time with no quiet zone whether your in sport mode or not.

littlebigfish...I have gone down exactly the same route..Never had a Porsche before and I have just ordered a C4S for Nov build.

Have a very similar spec'd car, in bassalt black with most of your options with the exception of the tire pressure monitor, self dim mirrors and power seats (only ordered standard sports).

One thing I would suggest is the multi-function steering wheel, especially as you have the phone option and I also went for the PSE to link in with the chrono package.

Off to the dealer a week saturday to see the arrival of the C4S over here... December can't come soon enough!!!
