Standard on turbo + GT2 IIRC.
Also 2 types of xenons. litronics are single xenon, but use a normal bulb for full beam. Bi-xenon use xenon for both hi & low beam. Not many specced the latter as they were a considerable premium for something you won't use that much and I can't really see them being massively better. I have litronics on the RS and they are great.

Raven Flyer - I think the opposite is true... most 996's (other than Turbo GT2 etc) have conventional lights. A small percentage of owners opted for the Litronic option.
The later 996 lights look like they are Xenon - with a large spherical lens in the headlamp unit - is that what you mean??

litronics are pretty obvious as when you turn them on, they flicker initially like a neon light (well xenon light in fact) and you can see the units self test by scanning up and down.
Interestingly (or not), even the full on bi-xenons still have the old style main beam bulbs for use when you flash the headlights - the xenons take too long to cycle on and off off to be flashed.
Yes, of course. Traditional bulbs in projector lenses give the blue/purple edged light too, so can look like Xenon when you see the car is coming towards you.
I suppose non litronic won't have the wash system either.
Interesting about the main beam flasher having a trad bulb. You don't normally need the full power of a main beam when you flash, so I would have thought a xenon flash would do.
