centre console removal

Wanna get this taken out of my RS, it really annoys me.!

Anybody done this on a 996, am assuming it is the same fitment on all cars.?

not difficult
take out the gearlever
take out the cd storage unit and the glove pocket " hole"
take of the side pads on the side of the console,
the whole thing is held in by 4 screws on a h shaped bracket that is screwed to the transmission tunnell and the console, you'll need a new black blanking plate to cover the hole left in the carpet
