996tt - short shift

Moving from a 993tt to a 996tt, one of the difference I didn't like was the extra throw on the 996tt's gearshift. I've now fitted a short-shift mechanism and it feels much better. Throw has been reduced by 30% and changes feel a lot more precise. Slighly more stength needed but hardly any and well worth it.

wife wouldnt let me - she prefers a long strong shaft with a bit of play at the end !

which one did you go for Barry?...the B&M item?

Hi Spencer, I went for the Schnell. I was really impressed by the workmanship. I thought it was better made than the OEM one that I replaced - less plastic for a start!
