Quoted SERIOUSLY happy by Norwich Union Direct
Discussion
This morning was not good. Pouring down with rain, kids trashing the place already, my wife mentions I've got two letters from my insurance company. I knew it was coming!
997 £2500
965 £1100
Bollox.
Someone from work mentioned Norwich Union Direct, but I couldn't be bothered, what could I save £100,£200?
I forced myself.
997 £748
965 £448
I checked/double checked/triple checked. Yes they had it on their system that I rolled a £40k 993, yes they knew about my SP30s.
I'm feel like I've lost a tenner and found £100. Fantastic company to deal with too.

Nice to get some positive feedback. Guess who I work for and I get staff rates!
If you're in management give whoever it was who dealt with my policy a pat on the back, she was fantastic.
Just looked at your profile, if you email me I'll give you my policy numbers. I've never known someone in a call centre be so helpful and professional, she just couldn't do enough. I'm sure it's down to your HR policies

I have 3 policies with them. The 944 only costs me 300 quid a year on an unlimited mileage policy. Oddly enough, it was actually cheaper than any of the classic limited mileage policies that I could find.
Rather strangely, about a year ago I had my renewal for my AMG Merc (E55). They wanted 1200 quid, which was a bit more than I thought they really should. I decided to go elsewhere and did an internet search. The best price I got was 600 quid from..... NU Direct. The SAME company that had sent me a renewal for 1200.
I checked, and it was right. I haven't a clue why it happened, but it did. The 1200 quid renewal must have been a glitch (or at least I hope it was).

Always had good experience with NU myself. They were superb after a small 'incident' in my Boxster - remember, handling claims well is at least as important as the cost of the policy with many of the cars that get discussed on here!
They've already quoted for my new arrival (996 C4 Tip - arriving sat, can't wait!) and I'm happy with the quote.
Sometimes the on-line system won't quote for cars over £30K - I got round this by phoning and explaining the situation whereupon they quoted me and still gave the on-line discount!!!

Unfortunately they couldn't match my existing quote (Privilege) but at least they got close. Most of the quotes i get range from £2k to £6k, and 2/3rds of the companies i call won't quote me at all (too young), but NU quoted £1200 and i currently get £950.
Oh well, worth a shot.

I'm convinced that all insurance companies load up automatic renewals making good profit on the percentage of people that can't be bothered to shop around.
Not a Porsche, but Mrs WR has a Mercedes C180 Coupe and has been with NU Direct for years , full NCB, no accidents, very happy with service , price etc,........
However at last renewal NU direct quoted £420, but More Than (Royal and Sun Alliance) £280 for same cover.....
Just thought i'd mention it....
