Disconnected boot light - advice /help! Cabriolet 944

I am unable to get the rear inside boot light to work & have done the obvious ( changed the bulb! )
As you look at the boot from the rear on the top back left hand side of the boot lid, there appears to be a wire which has been cut/disconnected.
No idea where this connects up to? I am presuming that this is one possible reason for the light failure?
Hope this makes sense!
Would really appreciate any guidance on the matter, to get the light back in working order.Thanks.

Well it sounds likely, was an aftermarket alarm installed, its happened before, there has been some confusion on installs' concerning switched alarm triggers

Might only have been 'live' when sidelights are turned on though.
