Hello Everyone

Thought I'd just post a quick note here to let people in the Thames Valley know about the new setup for the TIPEC club in the area.

I have just been appointed as the new RO for the club in the area and thought I'd let everyone know about the monthly meet.

It is open to all Porsche enthusiasts, past, present or potential owners and their spouses. No membership required.

Details are as follows - the first meet is tomorrow night at 7.30 (Tuesday 1 November)

Venue:
The Shire Horse
Bath Road
Littlewick Green
Maidenhead
Berkshire
SL6 3QA
Tel. 01628 825335

Date & Time
01/11/05
19:30 - 20:00

Be glad to see everyone who fancies coming along down there

Cheers
Paul Mabley

sorry about the acronyms Cyrus

TIPEC is "The Independant Porsche Enthusiasts Club" which is the main alternative to PCGB (Porsche Club Great Britain), but a lot of people including myself are members of both.

RO is Regional Officer/Organiser which basically means I look after the events and meetings for the Thames Valley area.

Be great to see you there!

Cheers
Paul

THIS IS TO INFORM EVERYONE OF A LATE VENUE CHANGE

It will now take place at 7.30pm for a 8.30 Dinner tomorrow night
(Tuesday 6 December) at:

The Red Lyon
Applehouse Hill
Henley Road
Hurley
Maidenhead
Berkshire
SL6 5LH

After lengthy (!) negotiations with the 'manager' at the Shire Horse
it turns out that they are not at all keen on having our (current
and future) meetings there for some reason - I'll explain in more
detail at a later date, but it comes down to the fact that we had a
booking in the diary for nearly 2 months that was cancelled by them
without notice to us in favour of customers that dont require an
area of the size we do - the 'manager' claims he will loose money on
our booking due to this. Rest assured correspondance will follow to
the owners.

I've visited the Red Lyon this evening and the Landlady there is
very keen to have our custom for the meeting and for the future and
has booked us an area in the pub for tomorrow night.

Unfortunately at this time, it looks like it will be the standard
menu rather than christmas (but I am grovelling hard with the
Landlady to change this!) , but I have a copy here and it is superb
food at a good price (similar price level to the Shire Horse). It is
a free house with Real Ales also.

Jo will be there from around 19:30 to meet you. I will sit at the
Shire Horse until around 20:00 and then drag everyone across to the
new venue.

I cannot apologise enough about this - these things happen
unfortunately from time to time, but I guarantee a good night out.

Please, email on paul@pikehaven.co.uk if any problems

Regards
Paul Mabley
