New Boxter New Engine!!!!

Hi All, First post, I have just discovered my recent 986 purchase (2 days) has had an engine replacement at 10K, I am going to contact the OPC for more info, however does anybody have any thoughts as to why this may have happened and does this replacement make it a bad/tainted car?, also as the car is out of warranty can you advise on best practise going forward on this front?

I don't see any problem with it having a NEW replacement engine. If it had been re'cond or a second hand one stuck in, that's different. I'd be happy.

Yep. Be glad the previous owner got hit with the cost of replacement - and not you!

Thanks for the positive comments (Bar One), the car suffered from RMS, have spoke to to prevoius owner who said OPC replaced under warranty and the car is 100%....It is a positive, just thought I would check with the experts..Many Thanks

not sure how this works v Data Protection Act (wenquiring about car bit the owner) but my OPC offered to check original specs / work done on private cars I might be buying
