Sounds about the right price to me, but no Sat nav is a downer. Looks bloody lovely though.

Any opinions? Anyone here want to sell me theirs? I've got no idea what I'm going to buy - could be tempted by a 997S, 996TT or GT3 mk2.....

Nice looking car although I don't like the alloy on the steering wheel or the door handles.

The trade seem obsessed with Satnav which came as standard on later models. Use lack of it as an excuse to drill the seller down on price further (They sure as hell will drill you down when you try to sell it at a later date)

Not sure I'd go for either turbo they have there. There are zillions of turbos out there, so why get one with a compromised spec and dubious taste trim? The black one is really nasty!

The black one does look like someone has been sick inside it and stuck some fake carbon on the top to try to cover it up.

The silver one looks great in the flesh. I even think the interior looks great. Only downside is satnav, but this isn't an issue for me as i thought pcm1 was rubbish anyway.

Daz, what do you think would be an attractive price for this car, assuming it came with a porsche inspection and 1 year warranty? I haven't seen many x50 and aero kit earlier cars for sale. I'll be paying cash with no trade in.

When I spoke to them today they were offering the car with 1 year mechanical warranty ( not by Porsche) and no inspection.

It's the minimum I'll need to buy any car, so either it would be included, or I'd just adjust the price down by £1000 to buy it myself.

Take your time with your search there are so many tts out there you should'nt have to worry about finding one.
If your after a GT3 Rhd on a 03 i've been offered one from a good source he says it cheap.
Its in silver around 2500thmls with pccb C/S version.
its a dealer and you will get the porsche warranty option, e-mail me if you are interested.
A bit off the subject but how does that ducati ride? a bit like the monster or not?
I was never keen on the looks but i'm slowly warming to it.

Hi Rob

Please send me the details of the GT3, I'm interested.

I sold the Ducati after it cost me £1300 in 3000 miles - 2 year service, belt changes, valve adjustment, 2 new tyres, chain and sprockets. Ouch. I traded it in for a BMW R1200GS and got back what I paid for it, so I can't complain too much. It was great to ride, nothing like a monster though - far more comfortable, seems to turn and brake better. It would be a great bike if they could sort out running costs and the quality of dealers.

Sorry I haven't been keeping track of prices recently. With no trade in you must be looking at chipping them another £2k plus the cost of putting a normal steering wheel on the car? (On performance cars I prefer a constant grip level on the steering wheel)

A few comments on the satnav issue. With PCM1 there are no empty DIN slots in the dash so when speccing my car I deliberately ordered the car without it as I wanted space for mounting one or two control panels etc.......... Later cars fitted with PCM2 have a single empty DIN slot. Although from my personal use of SatNav, mainly on long Eurohoon trips, I prefer using a mobile satnav unit which I can use my PC to plot specific routes as opposed the quickest route. Hence when buying cars I'm not bothered if a car has factory satnav installed, but do take the benefit of buying cars cheaper because the haven't.

BTW. I read somehwere that Porsche GB are no longer supporting PCM1. Also something to consider as the cars get older is if the PCM unit breaks it'll be expensive to replace out of warranty. Whereas if a DIN CD radio breaks, for a few £100 you've got a new one.

Much more tasteful and it claims to be an X50!

Also has a Porsche warranty running which means you can extend it without paying for an inspection + remdiation. Much better car than those others imho.

Suppose it depends how you look at it. For the same money you could have a GT2 with 10,000 less miles and a proper Porsche warranty. But you might not want one.

I think I do too many miles to make a GT2 a sensible buy. A TT can take 12k a year and still be saleable, I'm not too sure a GT2. And how long would I live using a GT2 in all weathers???

You may not live too long, but it will seem like it. Didn't realise you were looking for 'transport'.

As someone has stated don't panic buy, have a good look around.

Think on the positive side....if it takes you two months to find one you've saved yourself £2000 in depreciation.
