Also check the Vmax forum. A few GT3s have run, but they may be modded and Mk2s. Also, the Bruntingthorpe straight is only 2 miles long (I'm sure flemke had a long enogh stretch of tarmac to play with in the fatherland) and Vmax is wind dependent, ie following or facing affects results.

Not in my book, no, but a thread I contributed to last month entitled "Its not big and its not clever BUT Fastest trip you made" just disappeared. I reckon someone has decided that "mines faster than yours" threads don't promote the right image, whereas SPEED MATTERS obviously does.

You're not driving your Turbo fast enough!
I've had the Speedo bouncing 201-202-201-202 mph, while the GPS reading 197mph, bouncing of the rev limiter - before I DMS chipped it, not that the gearing has change. Mind you I needed over 2 miles to do it! At VMAX, the speed trap on 1.5 mile straight, I managed 181mph, then 0.5 mile to stop. – Speed Matters

Vic, there's a difference between GT3 owners saying what they can achieve on an autobahn (Mr Flemke spends some time out there) or at Bruntingthorpe, and between people saying how they drove at 180mph on the M40 in rush hour. PH does not condone speeding, even though speed matters.
