I'm hoping some-one has faced and solved this daft issue before.

Just purchased some gorgeous genuine 18" turbo hollow-spoke wheels for my 993 Carrera 4 from Jasmine Motorsport, but the tyre valves are so short and mounted so close to the wheel rim, you cannot fit a normal footpump "head" onto them. As I live some distance from a garage with an airline (whose narrow "metal head" Jasmine tell me will fit just fine), I am concerned how I am going to monitor and top-up the tyre pressures.

Has anyone else found this - and, most importantly, has anyone found a make of footpump that fits ?

P.S. The original tyre compressor is missing - would this do the job? (though I would prefer the footpump solution, as you have to get exercise somewhere!).

Been there, done that ...!

After some considerable deliberation on a suitable upgrade path, I purchased a Michelin (yes, de fat man) foot pump to assist with this specific task. To cut a shortish story shorter, I finally chamfered the end of the connector 45 degrees in order to accomplish suitable inflation ....

Now the requisite rigidity is available without medical enhancement !

cheers, Maurice
