Mouse ate my car
Discussion
Little Bas**rd!!!!!!!!!!!! Went to car on Saturday morning, after having used it late on Friday, to find the seat panel on the drivers side bitten to shreds by mice! No other areas of car were touched, bought some poison and more damage done on Saturday night but bait also taken. Die screaming Mickey!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone know how much the repair on a 3.2 Carrera sports seat is likely to be? needs seat part (not backrest) completely retrimmed (Leather by the way)

Bad luck. Similar thing had happened on my first 3.2 when the previous owner had had it, but they ate some of the electrics instead.

Little blighters!!!
Speak to Southbound Trimmers. (should google easily).
PS How did they get in?
Hard to tell, seems access was via passenger footwell (and no the floor isn't rotten) One theory is that they came up through the fresh air system, at least they haven't munched those tubes coz they're a b*gger to refit. Thanks for the suggestions guys
Southbound may not be able to turnaround that quickly as they are v popular, so maybe swap seats with the passenger side, so you can still use it. Or buy a set of old 911 seats from a breakers, 100 GBP should get you a set of OK ones while yours are being recovered.
Or get a set of Recaro SPGs from Recaro Direct (try recarodirect.co.uk) and get rid of the armchairs forever. You know it makes sense.

Couldn't find the site, but found the seats. It's people like you and the interweb that cause unrest!!! There I was happily planning to keep the 3.2 basically standard and now after a bit of browsing I'm pricing up ways to a)improve the interior and b) upgrade the performance. Keep your eyes skinned for a stripped out, fire breathing Targa coming your way soon!
Mickey is no more!! All the poison has gone and I even found a corpse. I know there will be more, but found a handy gadget that is supposed to repel the pesky rodents via ultra sound. Hmm not really convinced.
Anyway onto the car, undecided now about the seats, might not bother retrimming might get lighter ones and strip the interior. I know it appears strange but I've really got the urge to make his car a bit special.
Basically more power, less weight and better handling.
So far I've fitted K+N (yawn, I know but sounds great) Strut Brace and short shift kit.
Car is a 1986 3.2 Carrera Targa. 83,000 miles very solid, maintained by a guy I really rate (Martin Brown @ Porschetech) for the last 30k.
Suggestions welcome for performance enhancement, all welcome from mild tweaks to outrageous ideas.
As a starting point let's say I want this car to be modded so that it becomes close to a 964RS behaviour. I've owned one, I can't afford one now and I would like this Targa to be the fastest of it's kind but still look underrated.

Hmmm, couldn't google southbound either, but I'm sure they had one. Anyway, details are:

Re the Recaros, they are great seats (the 964RS and 993RS have very similar seats), very comfortable and really hold you tight around corners. They are also circa 7kgs or something, which is maybe half the weight of the standard seat, so you could save a useful and easy 15kgs in weight. The mice can save you even more weight. Get them working on the carpet and the headlining.
