Best Place for Expensive Parts - UK or offshore
Discussion
Just done a pricing exercise around the UK for a pair of new front calipers (928 S4 fronts which are the same as 968 MO30 type -- I call them 'medium blacks'!!.)
At the OPC I could get list less 10%, not bad but could I do better? E-mailed and/or spoke to loads of people in the UK, not able to get stock or just quoting list less a little bit. uummm! what next?
Did find one place who initially quoted list less 24% but then retracted it sharpish!!
Was told about one place in the States to try (Sunset Porsche) waiting for their response.
Does anyone have knowledge of a better route for sourcing new Porsche parts elsewhere in the world? Did think of trying a way in somewhere in Germany -- or what about Italy where the brakes actually come from?
thoughts?

NB A few of us 968 owners are trying to do a group buy on a brake upgrade, hence the post

Try Gert (in Belgium)at www.carnewal.com , might not be listed on his website but he may be able to source a deal for you.

I don't think Sunset will ship outside of the US. Not sure if Porsche Cars North America restricts that or if they don't want the hassle of customs forms, etc. But if you can find someone with a US address then you're in business; they can ship it on to you in the UK.
I've bought some things from them that cost fewer dollars than the UK dealer wanted in pounds and a German dealer wanted in Euros. And the parts were airfrieghted in from Germany and then sent to a US address. Go figure. Porsche parts prices in Europe are taking the proverbial.

Hi Paul,
Take a look at the Big Black kit we do (see the website). For a group buy, price can be reduced but you will need calliper adapters or M030/944 Turbo 250 hubs (for Medium Blacks too). www.promaxmotorsport.com
