Hopefully someone can help with this.

Is the engine block on the 951 the same as the one off a 2.5 944 (the particular 944 is an 83 model while the 951 is an 87)?

My 951 is looking like it needs a rebore, and rather than parting with large ammounts of cashto have someone do all the work for me I thought I would do as much of it as my limited tool kit allows and just get the rebore done profesionaly. As the car is my daily transport I also thought it would be handy if I could source the parts required, get them worked on prior to taking my car off the road so that I could take the old block off, bolt the new one one and sell the old one on ebay.

Cheers

Chris

The block for a 951 needs a small bit of machining from a 2.5 N/A. I can't remember exactly what, but it's not a big job. I enquired about this through Hartech, they apparently do it quite regularly - might be easier to just get the block done by them??? Their labour rates are far lower then most independent's, and they seem to know their stuff when it comes to proper Porsches, i.e. Front-Engined, Water-Cooled stuff... (RUNS AWAY)
