Hey Guys,

Common sense really but be careful in services, had a powernap for 10 minutes last night in services on M1 Nottingham. When was woken by some ugly looking tt opening the car door, saying get out i've got a in knife. I told him to do one restled the door shut, next thing both drivers side windows are smashed in, whatever he was using caught me in the arm. Shook up to say the least, wife says I should now sell the C4S but no mindless prick is going to dictate what I drive... Should have seen the police mug shots looked like someting out of deliverence!!!
CID should give me the car back for weekend, when finished fingerprinting.

Soory to hear about that experience. Normally I curse the pain in the ar5e that my immobiliser is. It would almost be amusing to see a car jacker trying to figure how out to disable it to get the car started though.

It's a sad reflection that i feel the need to lock the doors on our Boxster just when shuffling it around the drive and into the garage.

That is awful. What I do to possibly help in this situation (apart from being a good runner) is to seperate my immobiliser and car keys so even if my car keys are in the ignition, my remote immobiliser is in my pocket out of harms way.

So even if they caught you off guard with the engine running, they'd only stop it once.

Bloody hell!! Apart from locking the doors, the only other defence would be parking in a well-lit, well-frequented area - not ideal for a kip however. You're either brave or foolish, depending how you look at it, but well done indeed.

Another tactic much used in France is to give you a minor nudge at traffic lights - when you get out to inspect damage, swear and do the insurance bollox, they wave a knife in your face to get the keys and make off with the car. Bastards the lot of them.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Maybe they will catch them and give them a stiff talking to (let's face it they won't get anything else)

Girl that I work with had a guy put his arm through the window of her BMW and she did what anyone normal would have done and drove off at high speed. The shame was that he still had his arm trapped in the car. She said the screams could be heard for miles. She comes from South Africa where she used to carry a gun (god she frightened me without one)

Yes, but at least you will know who they are and can have them taken care of properly.

Doesn't sound as if even locking the doors (assuming that they weren't already locked) wouldve done any good, the bastads smashed both his side windows....they were coming in, no matter what

Christ, glad to hear you're alright, if not shaken up....have caught z's many times on M1 svcs (not in 911 yet though) on long jaunts back from Manchester to Kent...gulp, think twice about that now.

Back in the 1980s I had some guy run up to my MK1 Golf in a traffic jam, grab the partially open drivers window and pulled it off smashing it. He then attempted to lean in the car while using a cosh on me. My passenger was then confronted by his associate who tried to break the windscreen with his cosh. I had my fingers severely bitten and needed a tetanus injection from the ambulance that arrived. Also had a huge lump on my leg from one of the hits with the cosh.

That was at 3pm driving home from work on a Friday afternoon in South London

This sort of shit makes me think that 'we' should be allowed to carry handguns. Obviously, the 'we' only includes nice, level-headed people like myself - toerags need not apply!

Sorry to hear about your frightening experience.Reminded me of the time my car alarm went off at 4am. I looked out of the window to see a pair of legs hanging out of each side of the car !!
Following that, I checked out "Pentagon" in London. They can remove the side windows and fit a protective film onto the inside to stop break-ins. They specialise in vehicle protection particularly on high-end vehicles.Impressive stuff... costs about £500-£600.

Nothing illegal against ralgex. Would be risking getting a stiffer fine than the robber though if you dare to harm them I suspect

One option if you are scared of having side windows smashed in is security film. It takes a while to get through it, so you'd have enough time to start the engine and reverse over them
