Strange noises from the back of my 951

Driving home tonight I noticed a strange toc toc noise coming from low down on the rear drivrs side of the car. Turned all the noises off - stereo heater etc and listened to it windows up and down. It starts at aboout 20mph and blurs out at 40mph. Apears to be speed related rather than rev related. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Could be one of the CV's going west.

Have you got play on take up when you move off?

Does it clonk a bit when change gear at the rear?

Hi,

It could be the driveshaft to rear hub bolts loose - happened on mine when the last two eventualy sheared and left me stranded! You will need a spline drive allen key to tighten them up. The factory new bolts come pre coated with a threadlock compound, if re using the existing, use some medium strength loctite or similar.
