ok was offered a early Cayman from my OPC

was very excited as i am looking for a new car and this fits the bill at 43k

But and it a big but

This is AN S spec car so where are the extra's which are standard now days on cars of this mark.
you even have to spec xenon lights ffs

this is not actceptable imo on a S spec 43k car when all it is, is a boxter with a roof.
come part ex time the stealer will says its a 43k car when you paid well over 50k for it.

Just to spec it up the same as an Audi TTQS which you can get new for 27k cost £55,173.00

are porsche taking the piss this time ?
BMW always got slated for doing this but they seen the light and there cars are well speced as standard now days.

but £55k to get a Cayman is not funny, even just picking the stuff you will need to sell it come sale time the think comes to £49k, you can get a mrk 2 GT3 second hand for that !!!!!

See my other post, but I doubt that most people will be spending 55k on a Cayman S.

The Cayman has the same "S" options as the Boxster - fewer than the 997.

Price is whatever the market will bear...

Nobody is forcing you to buy one; if you think it's overpriced then buy something else. Porsche pricing suits its customers - and, clearly, it's own bottom line.

I know people will prefer to buy a new car for 55k gbp but that price is just stretching it as you can buy a used GT3 MK2 for similar money. Not easy to predict the market in 3-4 years but I reckon you'd be lucky to get 25k gbp when you sell up in a few years.

The GT3 will attain classic status wheras the Cayman S will be as common as muck. Just think what has happened to the Boxster & Audi TT.

A cars price has never had anything to do with it's cost of build!!
