Full Lock - Noise from Front Wheels?
Discussion
Chaps,
Over the last week, everytime I put a full lock on the 996 C2 when coming out of my drive, I get a noise from the front wheels/suspension. Its not a disturbing metal-to-metal noise but as I am not of a car mechanic mind, I wondered if anyone had some ideas of what it may be. I am sure I have read on a thread before the same question but cannot find out - something to do with the bearings/bushes?
Cheers

Had what sounds like this on a 964. A sort of groaning sound when on full lock. Turned out to be split steering rack gaters & they'd let in water. Only did it after I'd let the car stand for a few days.
If the sound persists when you pull the steering wheel when already at full lock, it could be low power steering fluid, air in the fluid, or even perhaps a failing power steering pump.
Hope you manage to figure out what it is!
Andy
