Having said that,if you always promised yourself a special 911,are very very good at fixing cars and dont care that its on the list because you intented to keep it,then i agree,its a very cheap and interesting 911.

It's got a set of Ruf wheels.....and that's about it, unless you count a big bore exhaust system that's on it's way out and a nicely Hammerited luggage compartment interior.
Last time I saw it all the paperwork relating to Ruf's knowledge of the car had gone missing - in fact, all the paperwork had gone missing and the trader ( not the current one ) wouldn't even get it out of the garage without a committment to buy - despite the fact that I'd given him 24 hours notice and driven over a 100 miles to see the car.
If it helps, the previous private owner ( in either Plymouth or Portsmouth ) told me that the rebuild and modification had been done by Junction 8 Cars somewhere near Silverstone. Ring any bells?

I presume this is the same car that was advertised for circa £18k ? some time ago. As Rob says, a brave man indeed. The trick is probably to ignore the Ruff bit and ask if you`d buy the car anyway. If you would then fine, if you wouldn`t then get your coat.
As a slight deviation with all these old cars that are supposed to be Ruff, (for example), you do need to be very careful as to exactly how modified the car was / is. The cheapest upgrade is a badge and some wheels. The most expensive bit is the engine and is invisible, it`s also the most likely bit to have been rebuilt or changed in the ensuing 20 years and it`s unlikely that work will have been carried out by the tuner.
A simple wastegate spring will make the car feel quicker but that doesn`t cost 10, 20 or £30k plus.
