Hi Guys

Finally gave in to temptation and bought a Mk II GT3 to replace my 996 C2. Pics to follow but first some quick questions...

Tyres - the original Michelin Pilot Sports are worn and lacking grip. The cars a daily driver for me so I don't want to go with cup tyres given the time of the year. Any views on P Zero's vs Pilot Sports?

Suspension geometry - read comments about factory setup sometimes being out. My dealer (Porsche Centre East London) commented that any problems would be apparent in uneven tyre wear, which is not the case on my car. Any benefits to be had (primarily road use) in changing factory setup? Also what are the costs?

PCCB - first impressions are awesomely powerful but squeaky. Washed the car today and squeaks have gone. Any pearls of wisdom on the subject of PCCB? (apart from don't go crazy on a track with them!)

Ceramics can squeak. I wouldn't worry. Hope the disks are in decent condition!

Dunno about tyres, but I thought Porsche would only sell if they had a minimum depth of tread?

With regard to geo, you can get a more performance optimised setup from JZM or Parr. Most people prefer it as its designed for safety rather than performance as standard. You can also get uneven tyre wear with a lot of track usage if you don't get it adjusted.

I was at East London a 10 days ago and didn't see a GT3. Must have been in and out?

Thanks for info Dan.

I checked the disks very thoroughly before parting with cash. They look like new and the squeaking has eased off now too. So far so good.

I bought the car privately. First saw it at Hendon Way Motors...and then spotted the same car advertised privately for a lot less...that's what pushed me over the edge! Great spec on the car including Litronics, PCCB, various carbon bits and crested sports seats.

Planning on taking it to Porsche Centre East London for any servicing etc...

I knew the rear tyres were sub optimal when I bought the car and that was factored into the price. Gonna get them sorted out very soon as lack of traction is frustrating. I reckon the current set have one trackday left in them. Anything going on this week?
