I noticed that in the recent cold snap my tyre pressures have dropped by about 4psi. I was wondering if i should up them but was a little concerned about overinflating as i presume the pressure will increase as i drive and warm the tyres (or is this negligable). I have a 996 on 18" sport designs. Any suggestions on winter tyre pressures front and back.

Thanks

I always use the same (cold) tyre pressure for road use regardless of it being summer or winter. Tyres will quickly cool down in this cold weather if it rains, your speed decreases or from being in contact with cold tarmac.

keep the cold pressures level as per factory requirements. i.e. inflate during cold times.

btw 4psi difference would be a hell of a lot. as standard on my car is 2.7

2.7 bar, not psi. Check your tyres weekly and adjust accordingly. The cold pressures should be maintained regardless of outside temperature.

Edited to say - 1 bar is approximately 15 psi

...thanks chaps. The cold tarmac and water having a cooling effect is a good point. I'll up the pressures to factory recommendations

Night time racing is the nuts and I was in just the right mood! Pete clipped a car he was overtaking which put us down the order a little but no harm done.

must have been awesome. was a joy to watch.

driving down though padock up to druids and down to graham hill (this was the area we were watching) looked great, no floodlights only the lights from the car. glowing disks, flames from the exhaust.

The GT3 seemed very quite. was this to meet noise restrictions? i loved that falcon, it spat flames from both sides and made a great sound before it retired...for whatever reason...guessing noise
