yes, i'd recommend you get one 
i use a Roock one which was not very cheap, you can pick up a decent one from around £150, e.g.

Undo four nuts, put the strut brace on, then put the 4 nuts back on (front two on either top mount).
You'll need to cut small slits in the carpet though - Stanley knife.

Well, it certainly looks great! I was informed that if you stiffen up the suspension as I did with Bilstein HDs, a trut brace will help make the car's handling feel more composed. Reason being that since the new suspension is more stiff, the body tries to flex more in compensation. With the more compliant stock suspension, the body isn't forced to flex as much since the suspension absorbes more of these forces

I'm having a strut brace fitted to my 993 Targa today (by GT One in Chertsey). I've also had some creaks in the dashboard/windscreen area and thought it might be worth taking up VS's recommendations. I chose the Porsche strut brace: on the basis that Porsche ought to know what they're doing with their own cars, I couldn't see why I should buy from anyone else. Peter (at GT One) recommended having the windscreen seal done, too - apparently that's where a lot of the creaking comes from - so that's being done at the same time. Between the two bits of work, I hope the creaks will go away!
Also having new boots all round, replacing with Pirelli Rossos all round - GT One's recommendation. Next time she goes in - fairly soon - I'm having the Porsche 4-wheel package of suspension items done - a good deal, at significantly less cost than individual items would amount to. That means a full geometry check, too, but altogether the car should then be ready for the new year. It's an expensive life at times, but the enjoyment I get from driving the car's worth every penny spent on it!
