Removing the cassette holder in the centre console

Whoever originally specced my car decided that a cassette player would be enough for their hi-fi needs. Although the car now has a Nakamichi head unit, there's still the cassette holder in the centre console. Is it possible to remove this? It looks rather daft

I have the same problem, it looks so '70s doesn't it. It's easy to remove just pop it out, the question is what do you replace it with? A CD holder?

Porsche may well offer a plain oddments tray as a replacement.

Ebay is scattered with cassette tray replacements for the 944. May be worth a quick look to see if the replacement is a similar size and shape.

If it helps, the part number on the original tray is 94555206300

Yeah, I feel like painting the car red and putting a white stripe down the side of it, then only using the windows for getting in and out.

Speaking of which, I saw a bit of the Dukes of Hazzard TV series yesterday. Classic.

Well, I still use cassettes in mine!

(as well as Radio, CD, CDRW, MP3)

There nothing quite like cassette for making temporary complication of the latest singles.
