Changing Nickname

When I joined this forum I was looking to buy a 993, hence nickname.

Stupidly I wasn't thinking long-term, so now I've bought a 993 I want to change my nickname but can't work out how to.

Anyone know if I need to re-register?

Nope just go to your profile and change your name. It is trivially simple.

Now I am confused.

I changed my nickname in the profile from 993buyer to A993LAD (reg of my new car)and for the first post it came up as A993LAD. But every post I have done since, including probably this one, says I'm 993buyer.

So I thought, my profile had somehow changed back to 993buyer.

But, when I go to my profile it says I am A993LAD. So why does the system think I am still 993buyer when I write a reply to a topic?

As you can probably guess, I don't work in IT!

probably because you are using a machine with cached credentials in the web browser.

You should be able to fix it by logging in again: restart your browser, come back to PH, go to the login page, login again with your new ID.

that should fix it.

If it doesn't then try clearing the cache: If you are using IE go to Tools -> Internet Options -> General, select delete cookies. Then do all the re-start, logging in stuff again.

NB this will delete all cookies, so any other sites that use cookies will all be re-set - I accept no responsibility for this
