Discussion
Hi to everyone, i'm very pleased with my first porsche, i know it isn't a 996 but at least im on the ladder now i do like the convertable bit and i can't wait for the summer. She is a limited edition maroon colour with only 3000 being made in that colour, and to be honest it is a fantastic drive.... www.mindysroadshow.co.uk/boxster-back.jpg www.mindysroadshow.co.uk/boxster-front.jpg sorry about the I'm kool bit just like to keep the reg hidden she is on an "s" take care everyone and keep safe...
Nice colour and welcome to the forum.
I know a lot of people do cover the number plates up, but if anyone wanted to, there are plenty of other places thay can pick up nice car number plates from... 30 mins sat outside the service reception of the local Porsche, Ferrari, TVR dealer for a start. As long as you don't name your location too closely you will be at no more risk than driving down the road.

Hi,to everyone who has repied, and thankyou for the warm welcome, Oh yes I'm hooked alright just the pure drving experience compared to my (now for Sale) Golf GTI is second to none , i love the driving position and lookin down over the shape of the front wing. I love the auto and tip box. Ive always wanted a Boxster and this has made my dream come true. The back end is soooo sexxy, I drove to London fm Norfolk over xmas and beat the family trave time by 14mins, it was warm enough to have the roof down(bit posy) i had my biggles sheepskin hat on and sunglasses...was wierd driving through the patchy fog at a very fast speed...Take care everyone and have a great new year..
Congrats, I am just about to follow a near identicle route. After 2 yrs of the leon cupra r I think its time to get on the first rung of the porka ladder before Summer is on us! Anyone with a facelift boxster in blue or silver with interesting bits for sale, give me a shout.... Cheers!

congrats, well done and welcome. a great great car. one tiny bit of advice/opinion which you may choose to ignore - you have bought a porsche, a piece of automotive heritage, and a fabulous car by any objective standards. there is a fair bit of snobbery around however - dont let yourself get sucked into it. "i know it isnt a 996" - so what? who cares? its a great car period.
my car also isnt a 996. its a second slower to 60. its top speed is 30mph less. (its also prettier and rarer). do i care? not a jot. its a porsche, and a beautiful one. enjoy your car. and be proud of it!
of course if you'd said "i know it isnt a 993tt then we would all understand perfectly...
Hello again, thankyou to all who has welcomed me again, you are very kind, im sure im gonna love my life with my new porka as you call it lol...softinthehead you are right, i do own a porsche an im very proud of it..i know what you mean by snobbery, new years eve i proudly pulled up in my boxster, there was a 996 in the car park, i egerly went over to have a quick look round, and as the owner had finished his pub lunch, he came out and looked at my car looked at his and if his face could of talked it would have said "yours is a poor mans porsche and mine isn't" very different to going on a bike meeting where everyone just admires the quality of the machinery and chats.. sad really like you say, he didn't wanna exchange any niceties only snobbery, still im a very happy chappy to own a piece of car history it has taken me a long time to buy the car of my dreams and nobody is gonna spoil that, speak soon and safe driving all may it be a little fast hehe

Well I think its very nice Paul, But not as nice as mine?
I promise if we arrange an East Anglian meet between the both of us, I won't laugh at it!!!!
I'll buy you a pint in stead!! (nice colour to) but not as nice as mine, Oh well.
How about a Porsche meet at old Hunstanton at the light house car park in the spring?
