Mk1 GT3 , Wheel Bolts

The wheel securing bolts on my GT3 are forever becoming covered in surface rust ,ruining the look of the wheels themselves. Seems to be a common problem with most 996's I see.
Anyone any ideas about a remedy , cadmium plating?oil blacking ? or is it just a case of removing each one in turn from time to time and wire brushing the rust off .
