Does anyone know a 996 turbo J B**ger (or similar) ?

Not my usual kind of post but ..........
This evening around the woking / m25 area tonight at about 5.30 ish. Grey 996 turbo reg J B**ger (meant to read some sort of name)
If so would you please inform the complete prat driving that as he decided to undertake in the pooring rain on a dual carrage way at circa 100mph + (50 mph speed limit) that not only is it the worst driving I have seen in ages but the police man in the layby was quite interested as well !!!!! (serves you right hopefully dangerous driving and a ban)
I can now seriously see why the general public think that only d**k heads drive porsches

No, but i can confirm that Dickheads can legally drive any motor vehicle and they can be found on any road in any country.
Was coming home through France, 20 miles from Calais on the motorway which was covered in 4 inches of snow, i was doing 35mph behind two other cars and the only safe part of the road was some tracks which were less deep in snow, Lorry driver seriously tried to overtake me with a) No room anyway and B) no guarantee that the tracks would not put me across his path cos i certainly could not get out of the tracks.

If that's the dual carriageway off M25 J11, that road used to be national speed limit with no barrier in the middle. They put the barrier up in the middle making the road much safer but then reduced the liimit to 50 mph. It's dual carriageway, no side roads, armco in the middle - should be 70mph limit.
I agree should be a 70 but the main issue is people pulling out from either side layby's about 800 yards long and usually full of cars, vans etc etc
There were so many accidents with people not looking / pulling out slowly and getting hit which is why they reduced it to a 50.
Don't get me wrong I have no issue with a bit of extra speed in the right location and road conditions, its just people like the driver yesterday who get everone with a porsche or a sports car a bad name.

Why the hell do u need a layby on a stretch of road that is
a) about half a mile long
b) about half a mile from loads of normal street parking
The layby should be removed - end of problems
I know that stretch of road very well, it certainly should be more than a 50 and is often driven like it is.
If the policeman in the layby didn't stop the driver at the time then not much he can do about it, no way of knowing his speed apart from guestimate etc - I mean the most is a nice letter through the post I guess telling him to be careful.

Morning! I also know that road well and have to say I always thought it was a 70? hmmn will have to check it more carefully next time. I often get people trying to race me too and really annoys me but I am still amazed if that Turbo driver was doing more than 70 as the road surface there is so bad I always find I need to take it really easy as it pulls you all over the place and in the wet I reakon anymore than 70 would put you in a ditch?

I'm not advocating dangerous driving and not having seen the specific incident I can't comment on it. However, the fact that there was enough room for someone to undertake you at 100mph means that you were in the wrong lane.
One thing I notice about driving in the UK compared to the continent is that people in the UK seem to think that they can hog the outside or middle lane even when the inside lane is empty. I stress I'm not defending this particular driver as it sounds like he p*sses people off regularly but if more lane etiquette was used then there would be less incidents like this.

I was behind the 996 (in a my 993)and he decided to undertake a eurobox who was in the right lane and to be honest should have been in the left hand lane.
Still no real excuse though for the speed though.
Re his speed yes it a guess but having driven fast cars for a while I think its a fairly good guess, his rear spoiler was well and truely up !!!!

Not necessarily, especially if driving with an appropriate gap to the car in front (which would have been quite large given the weather conditions). Any tit in a fast car can zap past on the inside and into your braking zone if they choose. Doesn't make them right or you wrong though, does it?
All I can say is the brakes must be bl**dy good on a 996 in the wet !!!!!!! Because he seriously stood on them comming up to the car about 5 car lenghts ahead of the one he undertook !!! Would'nt have even thought about it in the 993 in the dry !!
At the end of the day he ended up one car ahead of me for the next 6 miles !!!

Apologies phib, I thought it was you in the outside lane. The eurobox needs to learn some lane etiquette.

its adjustable manually too - and he could have been one of the plonkers that drives round with the rear spoiler up at 30mph - certainly sounds the type

So he has undertakien a car that you admit should have been in the inside lane, ie hogging the outside lane and his speed maybe touched 85mph (you say 100mph but in the dark & rain you probably overestimated it)
Don't really see the problem. Did you stay in the outside lane behind the hogger or undertake as well?
