Just organising the insurance for the new car and I'm being asked to provide evidence of thatcham 1 or 2 alarm. Surely this comes as standard doesn't it?

Good point, indeed there is a standard immobiliser, however if its Thatcham 1,2 etc approved is another matter. It probably pretty good, but for insurance purposes you might need to call Porsche GB for some clarity.
You certainly wont have an installation certificate as its standard on the car.

Good luck

pretty sure it's insurance recognised - the standard kit on the 996 is very, very secure.
