GT3 on the way

Just paid my deposit to Exeter OPC for a Basalt Black & Black GT3 Mk2 and to say i'm happy is an understatement 
Pick in up Monday and I think the next 3 days will be the longest of my life.
Took it for a test drive and it was amazing, what a monster, but totally controllable. The throttle response was awesome, and after driving a 996 C4 being able to point the car with the throttle in the corners was such thrill I can't put it into words. That sold it for me all on it's own.
And the best bit is that ever since EVO magazine started I have dreamed of flicking through The Knowledge and get to the Supercar section and see my car on the list.....and now I can
One word to describe it AWESOME

I couldn't get a real GT3 due to GF's kids but I make do with a 2001 C2 with aerokit and imagine i have the one i REALLY wanted.
Who knows maybe for my 34th b'day in 2006 ! I'm jealous, gutted and happy for you at the same time. Not enough GT3 pics on here as it is so get em sorted !

Roger that Chris, probaly the worst time of year to buy and run a GT3, got to get used to controlling the car with my right foot before I get over confident with no PSM to save me, learnt my lesson regarding that along time ago, sense will prevail
Steve was that you I saw yesterday (Wednesday)with your wife at Exeter OPC looking at that black GT3 ? I was the tall skinny bloke with two carrier bags , and was there to collect my own GT3. Came down the A38 to my home in Plymouth like an Exocet at times. An unbelieveably fast car compared to my C4 which I had just traded in.
Bad news is that I can't get the car down my drive as there is insufficient clearance unless I use a pair of wooden ramps. Surveyors coming tomorrow, (Friday) to give estimate to dig out my driveway and lower the Public footpath . Are you near Plymouth ? Perhaps we could tie up sometime if you are to compare notes as two new boys.

You will love it - it is a truly great car.
Particularly if the car's cambers have been increased, or the tyres have been run with low pressures, it is common for the inside edges of the tyres to wear away much more quickly than the treaded belt will do. This problem is harder to notice on the rear tyres, on which the wear rate also tends to be more aggressive.
You really need to get your head under the car just behind the rear tyres and use a torch to illuminate the inner edges. Do this frequently and you won't get caught out.

No I was the short, fat, balding, goatee wearing thug looking guy (loads of self esteem me
) I did see you and your gorgeous silver mk1 GT3 as you left, your car was once owned by Richurd Burns I believe wasn't it.
Great buy, great car with a great story attached to it.
I have been to 1 PCGB meet at Kenn last year (at the moment own a Viola Metallic C4 with Mk1 GT3 areo kit), and have now officially joined PCGB so will see you again soon.
Enjoy your new drive, I know you will, as will I.

yeh, I know, those turbo's with 4WD are really bad. They go round bends in the wet and come out the other end in one piece, it's really boring. They even go up those greasy mountain passes without having to go on the wrong side of the road, terrible stuff, and those autobahns, well, do you know that you can actually listen to your fantastic hifi system while cruising at 140mph, unbelievable, shouldn't be allowed

OK since we're doing a new GT3 thread I've just sold a seal grey 996tt for a new black GT3. It was a dealer pre-reg one that had only 200 miles on the clock which made it interesting as I only paid a few k more than a 6000 miler I looked at. I know black is hassle but when it's clean it looks awesome.
Given that it's winter and I'm coming from a turbo I'm scared of driving it! As everyone has pointed out in all of the car choice threads that come round it's another world from the turbo - the noise is obviously an awesome improvement and it feels about half the weight. Given that most of what the turbo was used for was track days it seems like the right choice. I just need to learn how to drive it....planning a trip to Don Palmer or carlimits to get some help.
