A Porsche performance diesel – when ? :-)
Discussion
In the shorter term, were Porsche to do a diesel Cayenne they'd probably borrow a chunky diesel from VW who have invested loads over the years with Bosch in diesel technology development. As for the diesel 911, quel horreur! First water-cooled then diesel powered!
Let's see how the diesel engined cars at Le Mans fare this year - if they can make clutches/gearboxes capable of dealing with the torque outputs then they could do very well. Once oil-burners start winning sporting events I suppose the sporting diesel road car is inevitable. Some would argue that it's already here in the form of the big diesel BMWs.
