Tried to drive my car this morning and the steering is very heavy. Fluid resovoir is full so that is not the problem. Any ideas? Cheers

does it make more noise than usual?
could be the pump has siezed... happened to mine last week... new ones are £350 from OPC but I know a couple of people who have got some that they have taken off their race cars.

No noise to speak of. Its been out on the road and its been cold. I did have a problem with a leaking hose sometime back and the rack ran without fluid. Maybe it has now packed up?

RAC just visited. Fluid ok. They reckon rack or pump.

Jon Mitchell the independant down in Bournemouth does recon pumps for £ 160 (I Think!)
More likely the pump than the rack is my guess.

Steering turned out to be blocked pump. I just love mechanics. Just when you think you know whats wrong they drop in with another diagnosis from left field. Like, I thought the pump on your pool got blocked, or your masserator pump got blocked.
