111 Point check

All items that are incorrect and are covered within the Porsche warranty have to be recified before a warranty will be issued. Only thing I got away with repairing on my last 111 check was my drivers electric mirror went side to side but not up and down. Had to rectify an RMS leak too even though the leak was so small that oil was not spilling onto the floor just collecting around the outside of the casing and the car probably would have lasted quite a while longer without it needing to be done. (Was definitely an RMS leak in it's early stages)

The RMS was on the car I just sold, I was taking out an OPC warranty after a service and 111 point check so they kindly charged me warranty rates for labour which saved me £40 an hour. It came to approximately £800 at an OPC which isn't as bad as some horror stories you here.
To answer the original question, tighter than a gnat's chuff. They even check the spare fuses and the bonnet latch - real fine tooth comb stuff.
RENEWAL of the OPC warranty does not require the 111 point inspection though. Once you have the warranty, assuming you keep the service book up to date, you can automatically renew up to 9 years/125k miles.
If you are looking to START a warranty on a used car, then you have to pass the 111 check before they issue the warranty. This means fixing the car up 1001% - trust me Porsche do not issue these warranties on ANY car they are not 1001% happy with. Which I suppose is fair enough - analogy would be dental insurance - before you can get your teeth insured you have to get them fixed up properly, right?

I was expecting to be fleeced when I took mine in for its 111. But, thankfully, nothing. Some comments about some underbody trims missing - that was it.
Seems a much better deal that BMW's recent 'amendments' to their warranties (see versuvius996 comments on the BMW forum

Also, my previous steed, an XJR - Jaguar relieved me of £1200 pa for their warranty (service was good though, brand courtesy Jag for use).
So, all things considered, I thing the Porsche warranty is not the worst deal out there.

Just to add, Porsche will only make you correct things which will be subsequently covered under the warranty. So if they find wear and tear items, trim, cosmetic damage - they will report it, but still let you have the warranty (as they won't cover it anyway should you decided to claim!).
That said, the report is VERY detailed - it's piece of mind when you buy the car - that in itself is worth paying the 2 hrs labour for IMO...
And not forgetting, you also get Porsche Assistance (eq, to 5* RAC Cover) - that's worth £100ish on it's own ...

The 111 point check is a brilliant comfort when buying a secondhand car.
And Porsche gain so much prestige from being able to maintain what seems to be the best value prestige manufacturers extended warranty around.
And it includes the RMS, --- so they can't go wrong so often --- and to 125k miles and 10+ years ?
Credit where credit is due, Porsche have taken a lot of flack on the RMS issue from certain directions.
