I am in the market for updating my 4.5 year old 996 to a 997 but after having inspected a number of used 997s I think that they all look a bit worn only after up to 6 months ownership and less than 2-3000 miles. The interior in my 996 stills looks ok for a 4.5 year old car whereas the dash in the approved 997 cabrio's I have seen at the OPCs all look a bit worn already. Admittedly the dash in the 996 is very basic compared to the 997 but does the latter wear well over time?

I've had mine since may and done 8000 miles. I don't know what you mean about the dashboard, but the interior in general seems very vunerable to scratches and other marks. The drivers' side mat was also very worn by about 5k, but hardly a major issue. The biggest problem for me is the nervousness of the car in poor, winter conditions. In the dry it's absolutely storming though.
