Can anyone help me? I am looking to fit new exhausts to my 996 Turbo. I have narrowed the choice down to 2 - Cargraphic and Tubi Style. I am after increased sporty noise all round, especially when opening the throttle - i.e sounds epic when you are flooring it, but I do not want to have a head ache when cruising along the motorway. I would also like an increase in BHP and believe that with the car being turbo charged, extra BHP should be a side effect of fitting new pipes. Is there anyone out there who can offer me impartial advice and has experience of both systems?

Don't know about the Tubi, but the CG should be drone free. I have their race exhaust/cats on my 993 and whilst it sounds great when booting it, you can cruise on the m-way with out head busting resonance with little noise in the cabin.

Manu is your man for Tubi, he posts on here

If you are going for the exhaust, you could go for a upgrade package with ecu, etc too. CG for eg do such kits.

Haven't experienced the Cargraphic (only on my 964RS) but have a Tubi on the TT.

It sounds beautifully crisp and deep on tick over when cold but unfortunately that goes after a couple of minutes and it resides into a fairly mundane hum.

When it's floored it opens up into a real bark and sounds like a full on race car....no kidding.

Cruising is perfectly sociable but there is just a slight boom at about 2000 rpm but I can live with that. Don't like the outlets on mine but the originals can be fitted.

Hope this helps

Cheers for that - I have heard that it is great when floored, but never been to sure what they are like for motorway and general driving.

Thanks MOD500 - I think that these are the pipes that I will go for. Reason being, as you mentioned, they work with an ECU upgrade. Infact the guys at Stuttgart Connection have a box that can re-programme the ECU and can put the original program back on to the ECU, if you so desire.

I pressume that when you say it sounds great when booting it, you are talking full on race car loud? Sounds like the combination I am looking for! Cheers.

I have the fabspeed which offers the most BHP for an exhaust BUT it does drone under part throttle between 2-3K. Excellent build quality.
Im going to change my fabspeed for an awe-tuning exhaust with 300 cell cats. They claim no drone what so ever. Check out their site www.awe-tuning.com, order it from the US as it will be cheaper.
As for the ecu upgrade try www.imagineauto.com

To everyone. Thanks for all you help, it has been useful and confusing - I now have more choices to look at - but I will get there. I do have one last question - When fitting a new exhaust only (no other tweaking) is there a noticable improvement to performance and power?
