Accumulator

Can anybody tell me whether the "Brake system accumulator" is the same as the "clutch slave cylinder accumulator"
This is on a 2002 996 turbo

In a word NO! I think these systems on the 996tt are much the same as on my 993tt, in which case the brake pressure accumulator is in the front luggage compartment, powered up by an electrically driven hydraulic pump. The clutch pressure accumulator is screwed into the slave cylinder atop the bell-housing, and is powered up by the engine driven hydraulic pump.
