944 S2 fuel consumption

I am getting 20/21mpg around town and hooning,
up to 29mpg on gentle motorway runs.
Does this sound normal to have this much variation?
What is everyone else getting?

my 968 (essentially same engine but with variocam) just about scrapes 20mpg around town, which is what its most used for. i work on 250 miles to a tank. on motorway i will get upto 400miles from same tank. so yes, the variation sounds entirely reasonable

Good all is well then, just didn't remember the 2.7 varying so much.
Not helped by my local filling station being somewhat less than competitive!
Not much competition in the sticks!

Thats about what I get too, maybe not quite as high as 29 on a run though, your clearly not trying!!

i do pretty much the same old stuff round town day in day out (hence the need for an exciting car). my 2.7 did 300 miles on a tank, the 968 does 250miles. On motorway however the 2.7 did 350miles and the 968 does 400 (probably cos of the extra gear for cruisin). either way who cares? youre getting there in style
