I have been looking at pricing options on a rear cage for my GT3, there is a company called Caged, run by ex Safety Devices guys who have made a cage for a fellow P'headers GT3, it is very nice, fits the factory points (bolt in) and is more substantial than the T'quipment one.

They will make it and fit it for £695 + vat.

Much better value than the OPC one.

Alternatively there is one on eBay at the moment for £200, but it will need plates welding onto it.

If you want a tel no for Caged let me know. I also have some pics of the cage, it iss the same pattern/shape as the T'quipment one.

Porsche don't make their own cages (AFAIK), they just add their markup on 3rd party items....

why not get a matter or heigo one if it has to be German?

I can second 'Caged' as they've just made me a custom cage for my caterham (makes it look like an ice cream van, as they made it 10cms higher than normal!) They've got a 275 GTB in at the moment, and recently did an XK150, so can be trusted to do a good job.

In fact, they're doing a 996 C4S at the moment, and also have full Cosmos Works 3D FEA software to analyse the strength of the cage (used for FIA homologation).

AFAIK Porsche don't make wheels or brake pads either, thats usually down to BBS, Speedline or Textar etc.. You can get an OEM Porsche cage from Gert whether it be the GT3 clubsport, the GT2 or the GT3 RS version.

I would third the Caged recommendation, they put cages in both my 968 CS and my MK1 GT3, their design and workmanship was faultless. They are also very nice people to deal with. Trouble is if you want the cage fitting then you will probably need to take it to them in Wiltshire, thats a bit of a drag from Ireland(JK Leonard)
