Which grandstand at Goodwood FOS please?

Don't go for the granstand at the end of the Lavant straight. Not unless you have VERY good eyesight. FOS ie held at Goodwood House NOT at the motor racing circuit.....
From the start line the cars run along a straight section before turning right. Along this section you have Goodwood House as a backdrop. Great view and great position for photos. Also fairly central location for all the other on site activities. Make sure you visit the Porsche Club stand which is normally manned by lots of very enthusastic Sussex based (the majority) Porsche enthusiasts who like to say hello.
If you go to the revival meeting, which is held at the circuit, I would suggest any of the grandstands which overlook the section between the end of the Lavant straight and the chicane. Lots of action and a great area for taking photographs.
Although they appear to be quite costly the stands do offer an improved view and somewhere to go if it gets too hot or it starts hissing down.
Don't bother to take your Porsche if you have an alternative means of transport. The car park is normally a field so lots of DUST or MUD depending on the weather.

I think you'd be disappointed if you only went for one day, you'd never fit it all in.
I reckon go for two days, Friday and Saturday. Friday you can use a roaming Grandstand ticket, and get to see the cars at various parts of the Hill, and various speeds. The start is great, but I wouldn't want to sit there all day.
There's so much there, it'd take a day just to look at the static stuff. When I take people for the first time, they've all returned the following year fitting in an extra day.
Of course this isn't possible for everyone, I live just 20 miles away, but worth the effort.
As for Grandstand seats, I reckon Paddock or Park are good, you can also see the big screen. The cars going up the Hill are a bit sporadic, most people end up not using the Grandstand that much.
I also know a way in avoiding the queues. Can't publish it, but if anyone wants to e-mail me, I can mail them back nearer the time.
