Fair Price for 2001 996 tt

About to finalise a deal on a 996 tt... heart says yes, head is getting nervous about the money .... is glass guide valuation / independent dealer price of £53k reasonable? (no trade in)

Car:
996 Twin turbo, April 2001 "Y"
Mileage 16400 (verified, hp checked etc, etc)
Basalt Black with Boxster Red Special Leather and carbon pack
1 owner from new, full PSH at supplying dealer ( done annually as low mileage )
PCM sat nav, Litronic. 6 cd multi + 1 cd dash
Completely unmarked
Price includes 12 months Porsche warranty (and necessary inspection)

Not many (any?) about with this mileage so is it a fair deal in the current market?

I'll pre-empty Henry-f by saying that mileage isn't everything. If those 15k miles have been around the Ring...

Exterior colour's OK, interior a bit dodgy. Boxster red is about one step up from rainforest green or whatever it's called.

A 2002 (52) 996TT at 20,000 miles books at £53,750 so if they are selling it for £53k then its an OK deal, with the Porsche warranty & the inspection.

Pretty sure mileage is not from track exploits..

forgot to mention new back tyres, fronts original by the looks (new brake discs too)

Well I just got 2 new rears today - so thats £330 they saved you ! Plus discs aint cheap either so all in all I would say its a good deal.
Red leather isn't my preference, but rather than de-value the car it perhaps limits a little the potential audience when you sell it.

New discs maybe due to the fact it's been sitting around unused for quite some time...

Boxster red actually looks not bad with black IMO.

sounds a very fair price to me given mileage and assuming good condition

boxster red will put some off (me included , love red leather but that one is too orange/pink but if you like it go for it

Car price sounds ok but the Boxster red interior limits the resale a bit.From my past experience the OPC's/specialists need little excuse to give a crap bid on a car and that interior would offer a good opportunity.IMHO of course.

Seems a good enough price. The only ones at OPCs, for less than £59k, are gaytronic and these are £57k.

Speaking of Gaytronic, I was looking at Autobahn's new 997s (non-Turbo obv) yesterday, and they're virtually all autos. I was like, WTF?

Black and boxster read would be one of my all time favourite combinations..... It reflects the black and red in the porsche emblem and on the boxster s really compliments the read brake calipers....

A 996tt with that spec would be my dream car....

I'll second that. I had a GTV 3.0 V6, silver with red leather. It looked great. (Until some tw@t keyed every panel.) There's something not quite right about Boxster Red. IMO.

really sorry to go off topic, but where did you go for your rear tyres, and what make are they. £330 sounds like a bloody good deal.

I think that is strong money for a 2001 TT.

Try the private ads, and you'll pick one up for well under £50K. I've seen some private ads at £45K with around 20K miles. Get it inspected, do a 111-point check and put a warranty on it - same as buying from an OPC.
