A lovely car!
But are they really worth the same or more than an 964RS? I can't see how that works?
Dave
You are comparing a rhd 3.2 CS with a lhd 964RS...53 UK rhd CS,,,about 1500 lhd 964RS,,,A rhd 964RS is much rarer and above or below 40,000 pounds depending on condition.
The 3.2 CS is a fantastic car, I really enjoyed the time I spent on road and track with mine, it is a better road car than a 964RS, where as a 64RS is a better track car....particularly smooth tracks.
A 3.2 CS has always been a sound purchase, definitely a the question is are they now worth nearly double a 3.2 Sport??
This looks like an immaculate well kept car, with supply/demand being what it is for a CS, I expect this car will be sold very soon

But on track, who cares if the car is LHD or RHD?
If the car is being used on track, and it's a pre-996 911, then LHD has got to be the more desirable given the superior driving and pedal position... Begs the question about a lot of the upper-end RHD 964RS... too harsh for the road, too pricey for the track? Hmmm...

Didn't Porsche produce only 47 RHD 964 RS - recently I've spotted an RHD Rubystone (best colour, natch) for sale for about £36k...?
IMHO, the 964RS is so much more specialised than the CS and has a racing lineage - although I do recall a rather rotund gent race a CS in the Giroflex series back in '87, IIRC.
In addition, I think that anyone buying a CS nowadays is not going to want to track it. Certainly if I was looking for one I'd want one that was totally original - which for me would rule Andy's car out of the question as it's clearly been on track and quiet extensively I'd guess, given the mods. Oddly enough, that wouldn't be a factor in my buying another 964RS - their every fibre screams "track day" and there's really no need to modify them at all in order to have fun on track.
All my personal opinion though and it does seem that any CSs do not hang around for very long at all - wish I'd been quick enough to buy that lhd one that Paul Stephens had for sale last year - about £13k IIRC!
Rubystone - This is not a 964RS vs 3.2 CS thread. If you want to argue "my cars better than yours" there are plenty of opportunities to join in with that elsewhere. If you want to snipe at my individual car then please do so one to one.
Although the CS was not a homologation special & has nothing like the racing heritage the RS has, to quote Porsche themselves the CS was designed to be driven to the track, raced, then driven home. Many were & some still are campaigned in a variety of series world wide, including by the likes of Steve Soper. RS's are out and out race cars made road legal, the CS is a road car with track potential (no one ever suggested to the contrary), that can be substantially improved with a few tried & tested upgrades.

rubystone said:You are wrong - I have tracked mine for two years - not as extensively as you speculate (about 10 days actually) and several other current owners do likewise. In fact one changed hands last year that had done 15,000 miles around the Ring.

rubystone said:Well if you actually took the trouble to read the advert before posting, you would have see that I have all the original bits & that the car can be easily converted back to stock. None of the mods I have undertaken are invasive.

rubystone said:Yes, that is exactly what Porsche intended for it
it's clearly been on track

I do seem to recall PS having a black lhd Cs in a while back, can't remember the price to be fair, & obviously they are worth less than RHD cos not one of the 53 yadda yadd etc etc.
Well list of cars Paul has sold on his website includes a regular 1989 G plate Carrera Sport in Grand Prix White 55,848 miles sold for £21,995 & the CS gfreeman mentions, but no Black Club Sport & that list looks like it goes back well over a year.
