911 Power Hood not working
Discussion
Hi all. I have had the car in the garage now for about 3 weeks with the roof down. I went out in her the other day and on my return went to close the roof. The electric hood returned to the close position as normal but didn't click into the locked position. Now when I push the open or close button all I get is a click.
Any ideas. The car is a 1988 911 Turbo.

This is not that uncommon when the roof has not been used for some time. I thing it needs to be stretched from time to time so I suggest you close it as far as it gets and then push it manually down or up until it re-engages. After a couple of times it should be ok again. You can also spray a bit of WD40 or whatever that stuff is called on the metal joints inside the frame which will reduce friction.
Thanks for that. The roof doesn't seem to be responding to the switch though. It wont go up or down at all. Is it safe to put the roof back manually? I will spray the joints with WD. It seemed more like a relay problem purhaps. Any one else ever had this problem before. Like I say, when the toggle button is pushed all I'm getting is a click.
Thanks all
