On Friday my wife was parked in Liverpool just off Hardman Street on a meter, at 3.35pm she had placed 3 pound coins in the machine which did not work, she left a notice on her dashboard to this effect and left the car, upon her return at just past 5pm this is what she found.

Being a sensible lady she walked past the car to the end of the street and turned round to have a quick check for anything suspicious in the street or around the car.
She then telephoned a friend we know who works in Liverpool to meet her and accompany her when she returned to the car.
It appears to have been malicious vandalism. The object used to cause the damage appears to have been a brick, although my wife does not recall seeing one at the scene.

To this point we had experienced no vandalism problems with the Porsche.

Unfortunately the chances of the perpetrators of the crime being caught are very small, as the area was not covered by CCTV and there were no obvious witnesses.

Really sorry to hear/see that - some people really are the pits.

Your in good company though - the X5 after last weekend now has
1 x scratch mark up the door
1 x crack in the rear bumper with scuff marks
1 x crease in the bodywork just above that
1 x dent in the top rear C pillar

All caused by some dickhead who obviously didn't like it, really smashed it up and then legged it. All when parked in good light in Croydon FFS!

It's off to the body shop to all be sorted soon - god only knows how much it will cost!

Traffic wardens can be very vindictive...

Seriously though, this is a really sad and outrageous story, and everyone here will be gutted for you and the missus. And be very wary about where we park our cars.

Thankfully, windscreens are quite cheap and quick to replace compared to dented or scratched panels.

oh no, Im really sorry for you.

Thankfully your wife was not around as if they would do that to a car what would they do to the person driving it.

Insurance should cove it, I would be cautious of saying vandalism maybe just a broken windscreen claim

Bastards of the lowest order, Scum.

I'm sorry for your experience. Don't let the scum put you off owning nice cars.

As already mentioned, I'd go the route of cracked windscreen beyond repair, ie £50ish excess and no loss of NCB.

There are seriously some people who don't deserve to live on this planet - total cnuts.

On a smaller scale I was parked outside my brother's house last weekend and some little twat tried to rip the wing mirror off the CS. Luckily he was too weak/stoopid/pissed and only managed to pop it out the socket.

Sorry to see that, it just gets no better does it! Same thing happened to my son in Reading. Only difference was that he was driving it when the broick was thrown! He stopped gave chase but lost them. Police said the same thing had happened several times that day. i.e. attempted murder - unfortunatly they were unable to do "anything" about it... Ho hum... "the british police, the best in the land" Rich...

You have my sincerest sympathy. Its not just the damage to the car (which thankfully can simply be repaired) its the torture of having your pride and joy not pristine - and the sense of vulnerability that someone, anyone can do this sort of thing at any time.

Be comforted that such events are rare and you are unlikely to experience it again.

I do hope something unpleasant happens to the individual who did this soon.

You mean like the ones who smashed my quarterlight and had the radio away in the Holiday Inn car park?
When I went to the 'nick' to report this all the coppers fell about in laughter. When they eventually could speak again I asked what was so funny. They replied it was the worse place in Liverpool to park even with CCTV and security staff. In fact some other poor sod had the engine nicked from his Jag in broad daylight and watched them drive off with it on the back of a winch!!

wouldnt worry about all this. murder, rape, burglary. all inconsequential. at least drivers who are doing 31 in a 30 zone are being caught. THAT IS WHAT IS IMPORTANT.

I think Shadowninja is right. There will come a time when us law abiding citizens (the majority) will have had enough of crime and criminals (the minority) and the absurd punishment system we have.

If people cannot live by the generally accepted 'rules' of society then they should not be allowed to live in that society. Rehabilitation seems to be mostly ineffectual, so I believe it will be only a matter of time before us in the majority just 'get rid' of the minority.

Not very civilised I know, and yes I am very biased after having my car stolen/ written off by 14 year olds three months ago. I received a letter from the courts yesterday informing me the two lads caught in the car have now been dealt with. One was given a Final Warning, the other got 12 hours Community Service. I bet thats the last time they steal/ joyride another car.

The rest of us will continue to pay for their fun in our insurance premiums.

Paul (in an unusually OTT and uncivilised mood)

Pain in the arse, i agree, some tw@t tried (again) to remove the badge of my 911 last week, so am having a better alarm with proximity thing fitted jan2nd. damaged paintwork means if it happens again, i'll have to de-badge the bonnet for good and get it sprayed up blank. Commiserations mate.
