gt2.. on track..

Just had gt2 on track ...the car is savage... stuck to the road... thought it might be a handfull due to reading all the post on here.... cant understand people that say they are not as fast as a gt3 on track... in my opinion it would de faster and easier to get a good time out of it.....much better fun also....!!! it feels much faster than my old mk1 gt3 which is no slow car.....

Very interesting - thought it might be a bit of a beast. Never took mine on track, but could see that it would be very quick in the hands of a 'useful' driver. Would imagine it would be superb in the fast corners - Where did you track yours?

just had about 10 laps in mondello... car is very good even around high speed corners.... felt very simular to my old gt3... i thought the car would oversteer when powering through and out of corners but it did not... the grip was unreal....the tyres didnt even squeel when turning in to fast to a corner... nearly felt more confident after 10 lap in the gt2 than 30 laps in the gt3.... the only time it got giddy was over a bump into a corner when the back got light and spun the wheels... i was pulling about 7-10 mph up on the gt3 on the fastest part of the track..the great thing about the car is that even if short shift up on the straight the cars speed at the end of straight is the same as reving the car out hard... you dont have to rev the nuts out of it....!! the main point of difference is the power out of corners on boost... this is very impressive.. you rocket out of corners while the gt3 is waiting to hit its 6000 rpm magic kick..... bit more practice in car and i will might raise the rear..and drop the front 10mm and stiffin up the car to try and get it to turn in better like a gt3....

Friend of mine used to track his all the time... stupidly fast car!!!

he said it was the 'easiest' 911 to drive quickly he's ever had... and he's had a fair few!

sounds good, did you ever get the geometry set up anywhere? how were the brakes? are your ceramics still intact?

I'm not suprised about the grip. One thing I noticed with mine, was that at higher speeds,it always felt completely glued to the tarmac. You can really feel the difference over other 996's - the aero-dynamics really do seem to work.
