Never heard of that, I know the turbo LE was available in 89, didn't know you could spec it on the SSE.
Craig, In '89 there was a Turbo LE available with side slats from flatnose (SE model) but with regular front wings and a deeper front spoiler these had 330bhp......not aware of a supersport LE, but certainly possible for it to have been done at the factory.
I would check under front lid and service book for codes....possibly starting with an X..
In the years that have gone by there have been quite a few non factory supersport conversions,,maybe this has been done to this car???? A valued addition if the factory did it,,,quite possibly a negative if it is an after market conversion.
You could always check with stuttgart using the vehicle VIN t confirm....without supporting paperwork, I would personally approach it with doubt unless there was paperwork to prove otherwise.

Yes Craig I remember them,I had a turbo factory flatnose when they were anounced,
I presume someone will know from the chass' no if it is a proper factory car.

Good point Clubsport,I'm not sure if they did it in supersport,but you could just about order anything at the time.

I looked through the Porsche produced price list and options for 1988-89 models.
I found supersport, Turbo, Turbo Le, & Turbo SE....but no Supersport LE up to now...must be really rare!

Assumed it was a coupe.....your can typo I took as car !!!
Sounds ok, obviously get it checked out...I would expect a black car with 85k to have had or need some front end paint.
Have you driven it? A supersport cab with 230 ish bhp...is more a cruiser than something to show a Boxsta who is the boss.

Not heard of a Supersport LE, don't think it is mentioned in the bible! But as others have said, you could probably option anything.
I also think Gemballa made what are effectively supersports, from non turbo coupes, targas and cabs, although I think these are flat noses.
I can imagine it would look the business though!
