Has anyone seen a Cayman on the road yet!?
Discussion
I'm pretty observant when driving and always notice nice cars. I have yet to see my first Cayman on the road - are they selling well?? I had an order in for one last autumn but cancelled when I realised I could get a two year old 996C4S for £6-£7k less. Maybe a few other folk realised the same. I really like the look of the Cayman but having driven one I feel it lacks the desired 'punch' for a car knocking on £48/£49k (with bits 'n bobs). If it had been £40k I think they would be a better bet.
seen a black one in lincoln, never waved back but not one boxster has ever waved back at me, ive near given up if it wasent for the "all 911 drivers are w*nkers" reputation so ill carry on being cheeful, letting people out and waving at boxsters.
that'll show em

i followed a red one to kings lynn tuther day, twas an S. sounded lovely and looked much nicer in the flesh. gave me a good run for my money too
which one of you hit the hedge first then?
good job it wasent one of the rare non S versions, putting that in the hedge would have been a shame.
saw a lovely eggshell blue one (though presume thats not the official colour description) in taunton today. no doubting, it was GORGEOUS. Porsche have finally got it right with the styling. and a lovely engine note. a shame though, if it hangs around here much longer the squirrels will ruin it...

Errrr, nervous, where in Norfolk are you? I used to tramp those areas when I was a young fella. Bombing up and down the A17 in my 1.6 Escort...Ahhh, those were the days. Single lane roads and caravans being pulled by Rovers.
I am said friend of Merritt. (Hello Steve!) I've not seen another on the road, although there seems to be a very steady throughput at Guildford OPC so they are definately being bought. But I have seen my own on the road.
I've only done about 850 miles so far (alright, I've only had it 4 weeks!) Initial reports - bloody good! Plenty quick enough for road use, I think the opportunities to use significantly more performance on the road would be pretty limited. Economy around 25 mpg so happy with that.

Now imagine it with a great big Gulf Orange stripe down the middle. Now that would be gorgeous. Only seen two so far on the road in Central London. And one of those was pulling into the OPC in Chiswick...

My first experience of one was a few weeks ago on a motorway. Driver refused to move from the outside lane despite there being no traffic around so like a good boy I stayed put (didn't want to undertake and give the "all 911 drivers are w4nkers" brigade more ammo!). I would like to think that he didn't see me but I find that hard to believe.
