Triptronic/manual maintenance

Hi there between the 2 are either, cheaper to maintain. Do you get many problems with triptronic box. I realsied they need a service a 96k miles or so Or what are the implications with Manual. I prefer triptronic but with my budget of 17k, there are alot more manuals, plus triptronic seem that little more expensive.If one was considerably cheaper to replace if any thing went wrong i think that would be the deciding factor. thanks
