944 crabbing on full lock

my 944 crabs is the best way to describe it on full lock the wheel loads up the kicks .
i have had wheel bearings done and full wheel alignment set but it still does it .
really beginning to hack me off any suggestions? p.s is has s2 wheels fitted and is a 1989 2.7 .

mine does it a bit when reversing on the drive... was a bit concerned about the rack but its not that i dont think.. only does it going backwards so i think it's the surface of the drive and the fact that the rear wheels are pulling the car back in a straight line against the perpendicular (ish) wheels so it skips a bit, bites and crabs, skips a bit.. etc etc

thats what its doing all right but my porsche mechanic and another owner i know don't have this problem .

Front wheels, or rear? Most cars don't have perfect Ackerman geometry and will scrub on full lock.

front wheels ,they don't appear to be rubbing on anything

It`s possible you have a limited slip differential which causing the rear wheels to scrub or trying to push the front straight on, especially if the front tyres are a bit shitty or old. Could simply be sitty or old front tyres. Should be fairly straight forward to diagnose with the aid of a good specialist.

Your total toe may be way out or maybe the rack is not centralised.
With the steering wheel exactly central, count the number of rotations it makes from centre to full lock left and then centre to full lock right - should be the same number of turns.

just had the wheel alignment properly checked and set .doin my head in

As mentioned earlier, I think it may be due to akerman geometry. My S2 cab did it aswel.
Simple fix is don't apply full lock.

My turbo does it a little when reversing. I put it down to the LSD.
